Wtz difference between digital camera and camcorder?

I want to buy one to take videos of my baby. Which of these will be better? Please guide.

A camcorder records moving images over a period of time in many pictures per second (fps).A camera is primarily for taking 1 picture (1frame)It can not record continuously.

Digital camera is primarily for taking photo, some can take video too but not that good.

Camcorder is for video… this is the one you want to record video… Some of them can also take photo but not that good.

Camcorder use cassette/tape to allow long video recording whereas digicam only allow memory card. Some camcorder allow memory card too. You better ask your local electronic store to help choosing or google it.

Digital camera clicks the momentary snaps of the scenes while camcorder records those movements. Digital camera’s mainly used to take still pics in addition to this it can record the movements for 10 minutes with less options. While camcorder is mainly used for recording the movement very clearly than cameras with more options. so If U want to make movie go for camcorder. which costs more than camera. But if U dont want to spend more, go for good quality digital camera which gives pic as well HD Quality movies.

    The difference is!!!

Camcorders record directly on a tape or CD and digital cameras record using a "flash memory" or a SD card!!!

They both can have optical or digital zoom!!
Optical is the one to look for, because the digital zoom makes the video go pixal, when you zoom in!!
