    @avooslwuthoqquan …
    @avooslwuthoqquan fair enough, everyone has preferences. personally i like working in it because it works well across all of my systems and that is all. i like it, it works well enough for me, when i have to share projects with others.

    i currently work in prores 422 and i enjoy the results. sorry for the confusion, i need to stop writing comments in the early/late hours.

    Is there a …
    Is there a difference in quality if you shoot video’s onto an SD card other than shooting on the direct hard drive like on the S10?

    @tealpsyclone @ …
    @tealpsyclone @tealpsyclone You might like it, but it is not the best quality codec for editing, period. It’s not even one of the best. It is a highly compressed delivery codec. Some cameras natively shoot h.264 which limits your options, but when given a choice there’s no reason to ever use it for editing.

    @avooslwuthoqquan i …
    @avooslwuthoqquan i don’t know what you are disagreeing to but i personally only work in H.264 (sometimes prores 422). i love it, it is smooth and works perfectly between all my systems.

    BTW the exact quote from my earlier comment “H.264 is the best codec”

    @tealpsyclone I …
    @tealpsyclone I disagree. H.264 is an absolutely fantastic codec….for delivery. Streaming, Blu-ray, you name it, it’s great. But it is not anywhere near the “best” codec for shooting or editing. In fact, it’s a processor hog and it’s not nearly as good quality as a lot of others except at a very high bitrate. A simple workaround for editing h264 on slower machines is converting the footage to something like Prores before beginning the edit.

    @djccchouse there …
    @djccchouse there is nothing wrong with premiere or any adobe products, to each their own and your choice is only up to you and what works the best for you. if premiere elements is slow on your computer, unfortunately the best option may be to get a new rig or at the very least upgrade a bit. more ram will only ever help.

    @djccchouse ok i …
    @djccchouse ok i personally use the final cut studio suite to edit all my video but if you can get the raw video into a workable codec there should be no problems at all, it is also possible to speed up your system by working with videos that do not need to be ripped on the fly. i do not own this camera and i wish i did but my experience with other cameras and their software makes me feel that the software that comes with it is more than good to get some workable video.

    h.264 is the best codec

    @tealpsyclone i …
    @tealpsyclone i normally use adobe premiere elements 8 wich runs very slow on my computer. But today i think i am going to try the DISC 2 that came with the camera because it says editing software, converter e.t.c
    but it would help if somebody could recommend me a good editing programm especially for my Camera

    @djccchouse sorry …
    @djccchouse sorry for the slow response. but to answer your question im going to have to ask one of my own. what editing suite are you using? while they are all similar there are many differences for each. and some are easier than others.

    @zigi92 yes large …
    @zigi92 yes large storage SD cards are expensive, a 32 gig sd card is about 130 bucks, give or take where you get it from. for you i think that the vixia hf s10 is a better option, more storage is always better, but if you already have a bunch of sd cards laying around then the vixia hf s100 is your guy. hope that helps.
