    Why won’t my Mac Pro recognize my GZ-MZ55u. I have tried Playback on PC, and Connect to Device through USB. Mac has newer Firewire 800 and Cam is USB or 1394

    No you have a Standard Everio. This guide applies to you. IF you read my comments and other posts you will see I mention the QuickTime patch. You need to install this if you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your Mac.

    I am working on a new guide to assist people more. Xmas is a good time for me so I’ll try and post something then.

    No!! I forgot that most people on uTube are not technical in any way… HDD = HARD DISK DRIVE

    Most people who are computer literate would understand this. Sorry if you didnt….

    Doesn’t the very beggining of the guide you created read “How to import movies from your JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to your Mac”?? I thought the HDD part was for High Definition? Is this not right? Thank you.

    one other thing …
    one other thing sorry, I do not have the dock that has the firewire port for the 155u…also I rechecked the apple imovie 08 camcorder support page and it states that each camera was tested ntsc the ones with the * tested the PAL units…I’m guessing that means both were tested? Thanks again for any help you can provide!

    Hey JVCMAN, I have both the gz-mg130u and 155u everio cams, iLife 08 and imovie still doesn’t recognize either cam…the apple website shows that imovie 08 supports the gz-mg155u (shows the PAL unit was tested) any help would be great thanks!

    Although remember …
    Although remember you need to use iMovie HD when using the HD everio. You dont use iLife 08 when using the HD versions.
